Patio Trattori & Pizzeria - the hidden gem in South Jakarta Area

Hi Whatsup

Driving around on a quiet Sunday, I decided to look for an Italian restaurant around south Jakarta area. I found Patio Trattoria & Pizzeria that is managed by the Plataran Group. The restaurant is quite a quaint hidden gem, lots of big trees surrounding the restaurant that gives off seclusion from the bustling city. Parking was zero hassle as free valet is provided for patrons.

Patio Trattoria & Pizzeria serves authentic Italian cuisines and the place has been opened for about a year and still going strong in providing best authentic Italian food to Italian food enthusiasts.
Walking in to the restaurant, I was greeted by a soothing fishes on a pond and a quite breeze from rustled leaves, definitely taking me out from the busy city life I’m so used to.

The restaurant is situated in what it seems like a house and areas are divided; there is the public area and private area for meetings and gatherings. What stood out the most was this restaurant would be perfect for a romantic dinner out with that special someone surrounded by a very romantic and secluded ambience.

Here are some recommendations those you may want to give a try:

1.Bresaolla Salad – IDR 79K

This is a very unfamiliar dish for me; fresh truffle oil drizzled on top of air-dried beef with rucola salad. In my years of feasting, I actually never heard of air-dried beef until that day. It is called Bresaola in Italian which basically refers to air-dried, salted beef that has been aged two or three months until it becomes hard and turns a dark red (almost purple color).

Bresaola originated from Valtellina, a valley in the Alps of northern Italy’s Lombardy region. The mix of the sweet tasting air-dried beef and rucola salad gives a perfect start of a meal comes next, it definitely opened my taste palate

.
2.  Nachos – IDR 69K

Nachos are perfect to fill gaps between meals. The mix of guacamole and tomatoes based sauce tasted juicy albeit it was a bit sour for my liking; it was served with generous amount of nachos chips and dressing.

3. Capelli D’ Angelo All’ Aragosta –IDR 297K

The name sounds complicated as the dish itself, it was as complex combinations between deliciousness and the umami feeling on every bite. It was perfectly cooked angel hair pasta with fresh grilled prawns that are seasoned with garlic olive oil; chili flakes and finished off with flying fish roe (exceptional taste!)

With the price, I would assume that it was a dish meant to be shared by two people, but I finished it all by myself (oh the gluttony!) A must try, do watch out for the spice kicks from the chili flakes.

super fresh orange juice to company my meal

4. Frutti di Mare Pizza – IDR 95K and con Fungi Pizza – IDR 99K

Pizza is a must try in an Italian restaurant and I am a quite picky Pizza eater. I have to emphasis that Pizza has to be delicious in an Italian restaurant, or else it wouldn’t be worth to be called an authentic Italian place. The pizza a thin crusted and is baked on a wooden pizza oven and with good dough, it was just authentically Italian; the base of the crust is not too thin or dry or hard, the crunchiness is mouth watering.

I did try the Con Fungi that consisted of slow roasted wild mushrooms with thyme, mozarrella and parmesan cheese and it was delicious yet this Di Mare pizza that consist of seafood of prawn, squid, salmons and pomodori sauce that topped off with mozzarella and parmesan cheese is by far my favorite.

5. Tiramisu – IDR 69K

Tiramisu, meaning in Italian as ‘pick me up’, ‘cheer me up’ or ‘wake me up’ definitely did all of the above to me, such a delight little dessert! It is a popular coffee-flavored Italian dessert that is made of lady’s fingers dipped in coffee, layered with a whipped mixture of eggs, sugar and mascarpone cheese flavored with cocoa. This is the BOMB and you have to get your tummy one of this.

6.Creme Caramel – IDR 59K

After a very fantastic dessert on tiramisu, I was quite underwhelmed by this dessert. It does have a very strong caramel flavor however a bit too strong that it became bitter to taste. The sweet custard that comes with it is not sweet enough to cover the bitter caramel that I have no idea how to enjoy it. I do have to say that the texture and the chewiness were just perfect to the T. Maybe it needs an acquire taste to enjoy this dessert.

If you are looking for a nice dining experience that taste you can rely on, this restaurant is the perfect place for it. Do pamper yourself with delicious Italian food that could transport you to the very city its cuisines are most well known, Italy.
